History, operations

The Chair of Physical Education, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense was established in October, 2012 by merging the chairs of physical education, first medical aid and civil defense. The Chair of Physical Education of the Armenian State University of Economics was established in 1975, from the very first day of the establishment of the university.

Significant successes have been recorded in a number of sports styles by participating in national and inter-university championships. Futsal players, chess players, table tennis players, volleyball players, individual athletes and sportspeople have been specifically distinguished for their mastery.

Subjects taught

The subjects taught by the chair are as follows: "Physical education", "First aid in emergency situations", "Issues of civil defense and emergency situations", "First aid in civil defense and emergency situations".

Scientific research activities

Staff of the Chair in the past and currently carries out scientific research works in the following areas.

  1. Issues of increasing the effectiveness of physical education in the university,
  2. Sports, ethical and fair play standards among youth.

For the last 3 years, the chair has published 27 scientific papers, 11 of them were published in international periodicals.
