Project Description

Jean-Monnet module entitled “EU politics, policies and polity” is designed to comprehensively address the issues of European integration form political, economic and administrative perspectives. It aims at shedding light on jigsaw of European integration from different viewpoints thus necessitating interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach. Such approach enables exhaustive apprehension of complexities existing in main domains of European integration.

The module will be included in the curriculum of MA programs “International Trade” and “International Finance”.

The module is divided in three parts:
- Course 1. Introduction to EU institutions and decision making mechanisms
- Course 2. European economic integration
- Course 3. EU and the world

In its structure (9 ECTS in total) the module consists of one general course and two specialized courses. Readers will be provided prior to each course to enhance students’ familiarity with the class material that will allow them to effectively participate in vibrant discussions during the classes.

In the framework of the project a textbook a comprehensive textbook on EU studies will be published covering all the dimensions of European integration. It will be the pioneering textbook in terms of using the potential of augmented reality. Moreover, a research will be carried out aimed to explore the process of European integration availing of the explanatory power of the theories of International Relations. It is also intended to organize a roundtable on the topic “Armenia and EU: deepening the cooperation and partnership”. In addition, the final workshop will provide a comprehensive summary of the entire project.

In terms of dissemination activities, the major activities within the scope of the project will be publicized on the official website of the ASUE as well as in the special website and the Facebook page of the module.
