History, operations

The Chair of Mathematical Methods in Economics (formerly Economic Cybernetics) was established in 1965 in the Faculty of Economics of Yerevan State University, then, in 1975, with the establishment of the Yerevan Institute of National Economy, the ASUE Chair of Mathematical Methods in Economics was established. From the very first day of its operations, the chair started to educate highly qualified specialists in economics and mathematics.

Mission of the Chair, stemming from the modern requirements of the economy and on the basis of the best international educational experience, is to provide students with up-to-date knowledge and skills, contributing to the preparation of qualified professionals to be competitive in the labor market.

The activities of the Chair are based on the fundamental principles of recognition, preservation and protection of academic freedom and integrity, integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, personalization of the teaching and learning processes, continuous improvement of scientific and educational activities and knowledge, integration into the international scientific research community, and development of feedback systems with consumers and beneficiaries of the educational services.
