ASUE Student Scientific Society session finalized its activities
Student science is in the limelight of ASUE Student Scientific Society (SSS). In her opening speech at SSS 40th session (February 16-25), ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan highlighted that the goal of Student Science Society is to discover talented students and the university will provide favorable conditions for them to carry out their scientific research.
“We have ambitious programs to promote and develop science among student population. ASUE leadership will take all the necessary steps to raise interest in students towards science. The best papers presented during SSS session will be published in “Young Scientist” journal – ASUE rector pointed out and encouraged the SSS coordinators to involve more students in the future.
The session proved that frames of interest in science are rather broad, starting from neuro-marketing to issues of state debt management.
The Competition Commission defined the prize takers taking into account paper content, presentation techniques, and comprehensive and deep responses to the questions posed.
ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan congratulated all the participants and pointed out that it was hard for the Commission to assess the participants as the competition between the best ones was rather high and intense and this was the reason for the abundance of incentive awards.
Here are names of the winners and prize takers:
Master students – Narine Petrosyan is the first prize taker, Tatev Mkrtchyan – the second prize taker and Zhora Stepanyan is the third prize winner.
Bachelor students – Hrachya Hovhannisyan was the best, Kristina Hakobyan took the second prize and Eliza Hunanyan – the third prize.
Davit Gevorgyan was awarded a prize for the most emotional speech, Stepan Hakobyan as the only freshman student, Satenik Gevorgyan and Angelina Aghababyan, whose points had a slight difference to take the third prize place.
Other SSS participants received certificates.
First prize winners were awarded 150000 drams each, second prize winners – 100000 drams each and third prize winners – 50000 drams each.
Students awarded with special prizes also received incentive awards. Other SSS participants received certificates.
“Our goal is to motivate you to be even more active in the future and demonstrate more interest in science and always remember that you should attach importance to both education and science and apply your acquired knowledge, research and analytical skills as well” – ASUE Rector pointed out.
Chairman of the Competition Commission of the 40th SSS session, ASUE vice-rector for Science Tatul Mkrtchyan pointed out that this session is a unique experience for students to present their research activities that will further assist them in the process of final and diploma work activities, when applying for scholarship grants and will further initiate successful professional activities.
Tatul Mkrtchyan also mentioned that he attaches importance to such events as they assist students in their scientific research activities, students also compete with each other, and university leadership will always guide and assist them. He also highlighted that the Commission was satisfied with the reports of bachelor students without diminishing the works of master students.
