ASUE Student Tigran Baghdasaryan Spent a Day with the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Armenia

A day spent in business environment with H.E. Nico Schermers, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia. On October 1, that unique opportunity was given to Tigran Baghdasaryan, the 3rd year student of Faculty of Marketing and Business Organization. He was the one who won the essay contest on "Opportunities for Expanding Armenian-Dutch Business Relations", announced in May, during the Ambassador's visit to ASUE. The winner would have the opportunity to spend a day with the Ambassador, getting acquainted with his work functions.

Tigran returned from a one-day joint work with the Ambassador greatly impressed․ The future economist has many new plans and ideas in mind. Accompanying Nico Schermers all day, Tigran had the opportunity both to communicate with the diplomatic official, and to participate in tours and meetings planned by the agenda. They visited Lori region, were hosted by regional governor Aram Khachatryan and Vanadzor mayor Mamikon Aslanyan, got acquainted with the strategic directions of the region's development and the existing challenges, exchanged views on the ways of overcoming them, and also expressed readiness to cooperate. Then they visited Vanadzor Technology Center, got acquainted with the center's activities and programs, and discussed opportunities for further cooperation. And at the end, summing up the day they spent together, Tigran presented his impressions and future plans.

We already talked to Tigran about that day. He said that the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia, where his essay was considered and recognized as a winner, highlighted the ease and speed of the presented program to solve problems.

The Ambassador liked Tigran's essay, and asked about the implementation ways of the ideas outlined in it.

"This is a great educational experience for every student. For the first time I had a personal-working contact with a diplomatic official, it was interesting to see the communication culture of the representatives of different spheres. I learned a lot. I have a great desire to continue my contacts with the Dutch embassy and ​​to implement my programs outlined in the essay step by step"; Tigran noted.
