Solemn ceremony of handing in graduation diplomas of around 2000 graduates (photos)
Today, annual solemn ceremony entitled “Graduate -2016” was held at ASUE yard, which is attended by Hovik Abrahamyan, the RA Prime Minister, Chairman of ASUE Board, Levon Mkrtchyan, the RA Ministry of Education and Science, Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, Professor, Karen Avagyan, Coordinator of Board of Trustees
Youth Foundation of Armenia,
RA Member of Parliament, Vice Rectors of the University, collaborators of Faculty and Administrative staffs, Student Council, several hundred graduates.
The event was organized by ASUE, Youth Foundation of Armenia and ASUE Student Council.
The excellence diplomas handing in ceremony started the Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, noting “Armenian State University of Economics (ASEU) is seeing off a new generation of professionals who are strong with best knowledge and skills. Today you are summarizing the university education cycle, which is crucial in everyone’s life. I understand that the University has created all the conditions necessary for good organization of a modern-type education, modern environment, amenities for research, upgraded material and technical base, a digital library. I hope this has given its results, and you can leave the University with the necessary knowledge and unforgettable impressions to help you find your place in life. Educated society is the guarantee of the State’s stability, development and social progress, which has no alternative. It is not accidental that in its program and daily activities the Government has embraced an approach of promoting education with a special focus on accessibility and affordability of education.
There is no doubt that a competitive State gets so, first of all, through competitive specialists, and in this context, to have an educated generation is very important. For me, as the Head of Government, especially important is the availability of qualified economists who can put their knowledge at the service of progressive development of our economy,” the Prime Minister stressed and expressed confidence that well-trained specialists will give new impetus to the development of Armenia’s economy and will become responsible citizens to solve the problems facing the country. In conclusion, Hovik Abrahamyan congratulated all ASEU graduates, wishing them success.
“I congratulate you on this beautiful day, graduates of one of most successful Universities in the Republic”, mentioned Levon Mkrtchyan, the RA Ministry of Education and Science in his welcoming speech directed to ASUE graduates, adding that today opens another stage of life for students. The Minister mentioned: taking into account the challenges and new problems that may face our country in the future, the contribution of well-trained specialist in the government of the country is very important. The Minister expressed confidence that ASUE graduates will contribute to the construction of the country. Levon Mkrtchyan also handed in the excellence diplomas. “Traditionally, we gather each year in this period to see off another generation by solemn ceremony. Today is a holiday not only for you, dear graduates, but also for us, the organizers and those responsible for education. Each year our University sees off great number of BA and MA graduates to arena of professional work and impatiently wait for their professional success”; mentioned Koryun Atoyan. The Rector handed in the excellence diplomas, then awarded certificates and souvenirs to a number of companies and organizations coordinating with the University. The representative of “ArmenTel” company expressed gratitude, stressed the University’s approach to keep contact with alumni, then added that ASUE graduates working in their company show the best results.
Graduate Gohar Hovhannisyan made a farewell speech, speaking about the University life.
The ceremony continued with the handing in diplomas, musical performance which gave the audience a good mood.
