ASUE Emerging Academics among the Triumphants in the Young Scientists Support Program Contest
The Chair of International Economic Relations at ASUE is proud to announce the commendable achievements of our Senior Lecturer, Dr. Albert Hayrapetyan, and Lecturer Hamlet Mkrtchyan, who have been honored as recipients of the 2023 Young Scientists Support Program (YSSP) award, a recognition aimed at fostering the publication of scientific articles by emerging researchers.
Dr. Hayrapetyan's recent co-authorship of the article "The Efficiency of Ensuring the Financial Security of Armenia: New Approaches" marks a significant scholarly contribution. This work, produced in collaboration with the Dean of ASUE’s Gyumri branch, Associate Professor Gayane Salnazaryan, Lecturer Lilit Avetisyan, and Ph.D. student Marine Avetisyan, delves into an analytical exploration of the factors that determine the security of Armenia's financial system. The paper poses critical questions regarding the evaluation of financial security in countries, identifies the elements that contribute to financial stability in Armenia, and scrutinizes the effectiveness of the current financial security strategy in the nation. The research concludes that shifts in the analyzed factors substantially influence Armenia's economic dynamics, particularly its financial system, with further repercussions in social, political, and public sectors. Mr. Hamlet Mkrtchyan has co-authored an article entitled “The Mining and Quarrying Industry in Armenia: Transformations in Fiscal Regulations and Anticipated Effects on Short-Term Tax Revenues.” This study, which sees the collaboration of Dr. Sergey Dokholyan, Anna Makaryan, PhD., and Dr. Albert Hayrapetyan, evaluates the immediate fiscal implications of policy changes on the tax contributions from Armenia's principal mining entities, through the lens of the export values of copper and other metal concentrates. The analysis posits that recent legislative changes have adversely affected the mining industry, which may, in turn, impact the investment climate in Armenia. This significant academic work has been featured in the esteemed journal 'Eurasian Mining', indexed by Scopus (Q2), and is accessible through the link provided.
