Samvel Avetisyan Participated in the Workshop Dedicated to Climate Change Risk Management

On December 4, Dilijan hosted a workshop entitled "Climate Change Risk Management at the Basis of National Adaptation Acts" organized by “The Green Climate Fund”, Ministry of the Environment of the RA, the administration of the Tavush Marz and National office of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Armenia.

Samvel Avetisyan, senior expert of AMBERD Research Center represented ASEU and reported on “Climate Change and Agricultural Vulnerability”.

According to the Professor, in the case of an increase in the predicted temperature and fall in precipitation, acceleration of desertification processes should be expected. “Moreover, according to forecasts, the most valuable pastures in the subalpine and alpine zones will decrease by 19-22%.”
