"New knowledge transfer should be primary for scientist-pedagogues": Anahit Melkumyan

Biography of the Doctor of Economics, Professor Anahit Melkumyan is intertwined with her Alma Mater (University of Economics), and 1983 was the beginning of her work career, which is four decades in a row. At that time, she was a lecturer at the Chair of Labor Economics and Science Organization of the university.

In 1984, she defended her PhD thesis at St. Petersburg University of Finance and Economics; in 1994 she graduated from the College of Business and Management by the American University of Armenia being awarded a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, and defended her doctoral dissertation in 2005.

In 2018 Anahit Melkumyan headed the Chair of Labor Economics, and from 2021 onwards, the Chair of Business Administration shaped after the merging of the chairs of labor economics and business organization.

The chair, which comprises high-quality, experienced and mostly young specialists, is engaged in research, training and qualification programs headed by highly experienced scientist-pedagogue, as well is represented in international scientific platforms.

"We work in education, therefore, our objectives and goals are to prepare specialists that will be capable and competitive in the labor market, will contribute to the advancement of our economy and lead to innovative changes. I think we succeed in it all, because our graduates are already employed during their research experience and internship" Anahit Melkumyan points out.

The scope of the professor's scientific interests is wide, ranging from human resources and career management to labor market and employment issues. More than 50 scientific works (textbooks, monographs, lectures and papers), as well as papers published in international journals, are the natural response of the scientist to the modern economic developments.
