ASUE participated in the panel discussion of the international economic forum and is a member of the newly established Association of CIS Universities

On June 14, 2023, the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (SPSUE) organized a panel discussion on "The realization of the innovative and industrial potential of the CIS countries: the Role of the University Community" held on the platform of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics has moderated the panel discussion. Rectors of the universities of the CIS countries and some other Russian universities held speeches. Davit Hakhverdyan, Director of ASUE "Amberd" Research Center has introduced ASUE and presented a report during the panel discussion.

The main goal of the discussion was the shaping of some inter-state and inter-university project teams and formation of common vision to solve the issues of CIS countries’ economic development. After the panel discussion, a memorandum on the establishment of the Association of CIS Universities on the issues of Sustainable Economic Development was signed. ASUE was active in the establishment of the Association and the signing process of the memorandum.

Davit Hakhverdyan pointed out that the memorandum signing will lead to specific steps to shape unified approaches of the CIS university community, thus increasing the quality and internationalization of higher education and scientific research, as well as mutually beneficial scientific and educational activities.
