ASUE Rafting Team - Winner of Interuniversity Championship
On May 19, a rafting championship was held in Lori region (Debed river) within the framework of the 21st student sports games of the RA Universities. Hovhannes Gabrielyan, Head of ASUE Chair of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, President of the Student Sports Federation of Armenia, informed that ASUE team took the first place .
6 student teams took part in the championship - 2 from ASUE, 2 from National Polytechnic University of Armenia (NAUA), 1 from Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture (ASIPCS), 1 from “Non-State University Student Center” NGO. The 2nd and 3rd places were taken by ASIPCS and NAUA.
Arman Gulyan, a lecturer at ASUE Chair of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, had coached our 2 teams. Here are the members of ASUE winning team – students Shakro Grigoryan, Tatev Hakobyan, Oscar Ayvazyan, Armen Hambaryan and coach Arman Gulyan.
"Rafting is a type of rowing, besides, it is an extreme sport, which has aroused great interest among our sports lovers. I want to mention that the championship was implemented with the active efforts of the Armenian National Rafting Federation, on the initiative of the Student Sports Federation of Armenia. "Noy" rafting club provided proper hospitality. We thank all the organizers and participants"; Hovhannes Gabrielyan noted.
Let’s recall, the spring stage of the 21st student games will end on May 26-27, the games will resume in the new academic year.
