ASUE Autumn Camp 2024 Concludes
On November 2-3, the Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) held a two-day autumn camp for 11th and 12th grade students from schools and lyceums in Armavir, Lori, Kotayk, Ararat, Aragatsotn, and Syunik regions, and Yerevan. This unique opportunity was extended to 47 participants, selected based on their motivational letters and CVs submitted during the application phase.
The camp was opened by Grisha Amirkhanyan, Head of ASUE Continuing Education, and Arev Manukyan, Student Council President, who welcomed the students and introduced them to the university's academic programs, admission procedures, and the activities of the Student Council. Participants in the "Erasmus+" international exchange program also shared insights on studying abroad and the invaluable experiences gained through such programs.
Both days of the camp were filled with engaging and dynamic sessions. Topics covered included finance, marketing, management, digital technology, career orientation, and personal development. Students also enjoyed knowledge-based games, team challenges, and interactive discussions.
ASUE staff members conducted various sessions: Irene Gevorgyan from the Continuing Education Department spoke on the importance of university education," David Hakobyan, Director of the Amberd Research Center, discussed “what, how, and for whom” in Economics. Zhora Stepanyan, Senior Specialist of the Continuing Education Department, addressed the relevance of financial literacy, Argam Artashyan, Head of IT, presented a talk on the next-generation economy, Vadim Grigoryan, Head of the Marketing Department, delivered a session on marketing in 60 minutes, Lusine Khurshudyan shared the formula for a successful career, and Senior Lecturer Marine Arakelyan from the Management Department gave a talk on career orientation.
The high school students listened to the speakers with great interest, asked questions, and enthusiastically participated in recreational games designed to build economic knowledge and analytical thinking.
In team challenges, six groups were tasked with creating business ideas, which included development strategies, financial analysis, target audience selection, logos, and more. The judging panel commended all teams for their knowledge and commitment and selected a winning team.
The two-day camp concluded with a campus tour and a closing ceremony where participants received awards, gifts, and certificates.
