Educational Internship of a Foreign Student at ASUE
From July 1 to August 23, Peter Chen, a student from the Faculty of Mathematical Economics and Finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), participated in an educational internship at the Armenian State University of Economics.
During this time at ASUE, Peter Chen completed his educational internship at the "Amberd" Research Center. He served it under the guidance of the Deputy Director and Senior Expert Ph.D. in Economics Vardan Atoyan, as well as Associate Professor Anna Pakhlyan and Junior Researcher Ruzanna Tadevosyan.
Throughout this internship, Peter Chen was introduced to the skills necessary for conducting independent research. He gained proficiency in using large international databases and conducted comparative analyses, thanks to the support and mentorship provided by the research team.
As a result of his educational internship, Peter Chen authored a paper entitled "Global Investment Trends," which presents a comprehensive study of global investment patterns and a comparative analysis of the volume of foreign investment in specific countries, including Sudan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and the USA. This paper is under consideration for publication in the "Amberd" newsletter, after being approved by the editorial board.
As a second-year student, this highlighted Peter's first involvement in research, during which he became familiar with various research methodologies.
Peter Chen was hosted by Lusine Danielyan, Director of ASUE External Relations Department, as well as staff members of the Division of International Relations.
