The lecturers of the Department of Macroeconomics visited the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia

On September 28, lecturers of the chair of Macroeconomics headed by the acting head of the chair Associate Professor Karen Grigoryan visited the RA Statistical Committee to study the macroeconomic indicators and national accounts, scientific and methodological issues for improving these calculations. Karen Grigoryan told that Gagik Ananyan, member of the State Council of the Statistical Committee of RA, Coordinator of Microeconomics and Economic Activities Sphere, Lilit Petrosyan and Lusya Khachatryan presented reports. Gagik Ananyan, an experienced organizer of statistical activities, has presented an useful methodological report on the main functions, goals and objectives of the Committee, state and local self-governing bodies in the field of statistical information, international organizations and national statistical services, particularly EU, CIS and cooperation with EAEU statistical agencies. Lusya Khachatryan and Lilit Petrosyan presented the policy of reviewing the national accounts of Armenia, the national economy classification, peculiarities of classification of economic activities, macroeconomic aggregation mechanisms of microeconomic information and indicators, the principles of UN and European Statistics. More detailed statistical databases were also reviewed. In the second part of the meeting, lecturers of the Chair of Macroeconomics addressed questions to the specialists and received exhaustive answers.
