HIV/AIDS: informative seminar at ASUE
On the eve of the World AIDS Day, which is held on the 1st December and gives an opportunity to people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, ASUE Council initiated a seminar during which participants talked about HIV/AIDS. Center of Armenian Red Cross Society, RA Ministry of Health and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies supported the seminar. A large number of students attended the seminar.
Our university hosted representatives of Center of Armenian Red Cross Society Karine Sargsyan, Armine Hakobyan, Inessa Voskanyan.
Armine Hakobyan delivered a lecture on HIV/AIDS disease, its symptoms, explained the ways of its transmission (sex, syringes, breast milk, etc.), infection prevention steps, target groups, etc. Statistics on Armenia was also presented. During the second part of the seminar, participants watched an informative video.
In conversation with ASUE Media and Public Relations Division Armine Hakobyan noted that such informative events were held in all RA Universities. The goal was to inform young people about the disease, as the informed person can reasonably prevent the danger.
