ASUE 25th Conference: Innovations as a reference model of sustainable development

Today ASUE XXV scientific conference entitled "Knowledge, innovations and development" launched at ASUE Great Hall.

RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, RA Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan, RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and External Relations Gagik Vardanyan, Deputy Chairman of RA CB Nerses Yeritsyan, RA CB Board member Armenak Darbinyan, Dean of the Economic Department of YSU Hayk Sargsyan, Professor Grisha Gharibyan other honorary guests, vice-rectors, professors and students were present at the conference consolidating the economic thought.

Welcoming the RA Prime Minister, ministers, all the guests and participants ASUE Rector Professor Koryun Atoyan opened the plenary session. Noting that the conference aspires to become a comprehensive and consistent platform for discussions, the rector said: "It's important for us to come up with constructive ideas, analyzes, unbiased opinions. RA Government has expectations from us, and we have to realize the need of demonstrating our potential”.

Welcoming the organizers and participants of ASUE conference, the Prime Minister said that he was well aware of the research conducted at ASUE and expressed satisfaction that ASUE professors, post-graduate students and students focus on government's economic policy framework.

 “The IT industry has made significant progress in recent years, with an annual 25 percent increase being reported in the sector. Today we have all the prerequisites and the relevant potential to become a key actor in the region. We make consistent efforts for development of innovation ecosystems, in particular, a number of programs are being implemented to improve the legal framework of the innovation sphere and create and develop modern innovation infrastructure. I am convinced that thanks to this conference, Armenian experts, foreign researchers, participants, and all those who familiarized themselves with the materials of the conference will become aware of the problems existing in the country’s socioeconomic sphere and their possible solutions,” H. Abrahamyan said.

RA Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan expressed his satisfaction for having an opportunity to present the most demanded, deepest and most promising topic at his home University. His report was entitled "The problems and prospects of innovative development of Armenia's economy". He said that he was honored to represent "Armenia's sustainable economic development strategy: the path of innovative progress" document designed by the RA Ministry of Economy. In his speech, the minister answered the following questions: Why do we see our progress in the innovative development? Which are the economic development prospect of our country?

Afterwards Koryun Atoyan presented a report on "Higher education and economic development interrelations", stressing the role of higher education in national innovative system.

The first plenary session ended in a working environment. RA Economy minister answered the questions of the participants.
