Our university celebrated the World Statistics Day: ASUE is the only Armenian University issuing statisticians

World Statistics Day was celebrated at ASUE Department of Statistics and Information Processing. The event was attended by Manuk Movsisyan the dean of the mentioned department, stuff of the Statistics chair, representatives of UN, Armenia Anna Hovhannisyan and Mher Manukyan.

The event was organized by the ASUE Library and UN Department of Public Information Office, Armenia.

Dean Manuk Movsisyan greeted all present and congratulated the statisticians with the professional holiday. Dean highlighted the role of information in the modern era, emphasizing that it is one of the most valuable information.

Library director Armine Hovhannisyan also welcomed the attendees.

In her speech Anna Hovhannisyan assured the student-statisticians that they had made the right choice of profession and noted that no country can develop without a reliable statistical data.

          Afterwards two films were screened. The first film told about the National Statistical Service (NSS) activities, its mission, and the second one told about the sample survey of UN Armenian Office on the reproductive behavior of RA population.
