The impact of competitive environment on the inclusive economic growth: discussion at ASUE

A regular round-table discussion on “The impact of competitive environment, import and export on RA inclusive growth” was held at ASUE`s International Programs Center supported by ASUE and South Caucasus Department of Swiss Cooperation Office. Recall that today's meeting was the 9th in the framework of the program.

The event was attended by the Vice Rector on Education-Methodological Matters Paruyr  Kalantaryan, project management team, led by Nerses Gevorgyan, faculty members and students, experts of RA Ministry of Economy.  

In his opening remarks Nerses Gevorgyan thanked the participants and mentioned that the project aimed to support the discussion of issues of public concern, focusing on the vision of RA inclusive economic development.

The main speakers were the acting head of the International economic relations chair Grigor Nazaryan and associate professor of the same chair David Hakhverdyan.

In particular Grigor Nazaryan noted that the corruption, taxation, tax rates, inefficient government bureaucracy, low level of qualification of workers are still problems that significantly impede Armenia's competitiveness. According to David Hakhverdyan, in this case becomes very important to increase the competitiveness in the field of higher education.
