OPEN LESSON AIMED AT RAISING AWARENESS AMONG STUDENTS
Today, an open lesson on Ebola virus was conducted by the Chair of Physical Training, First Aid and Civil Defense at the 1st year students of Department of Marketing. Associate Professor, Candidate of Chemistry Siranush Harutyunyan presented the topic.
The lesson was attended by Associate Professor, Candidate of Chemistry Venera Voskanyan, lecturers Neda Petrosyan, Tatevik Gabrielyan, senior assistant Shoghik Manasyan.
Siranush Harutyunyan presented report by slide show, spoke about types of Ebola virus, ways of spreading it. The speaker referred to death cases of Ebola, then described the disease process.
The Associate Professor mentioned that the most famous symptom is high temperature. Within the framework of the topic Siranush Harutyunyan spoke about biological weapons. At the end, the proposals of the World Health Organization aimed at preventing the epidemic were presented.
At the end of lesson the speaker answered the students’ questions.
In the interview with ASUE Media and Public Relations Division Siranush Harutyunyan mentioned that another open lesson on earthquakes, buildings’ seismic stability is planned to be conducted.
“Ebola virus is a global issue, so today’s topic was not a random choice. The students should be aware of the symptoms, types of Ebola virus, ways of spreading it and other information, in order to avoid virus. We try to increase students’ awareness and to discuss important topics”; said the Associate Professor.
