REGULAR SESSION OF ASUE SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL
“During the last year the Student Council went on bringing together the students, who are engaged in social activities both at the University, and out of it. Olympiads, economic student conferences, sport and cultural measures, intellectual games, competition-festivals, debates, visits to Armenian historical sights and museums were conducted”; said Sevak Khachatryan, the Chairman of the Student Council, during today’s session of Scientific Council while presenting the report of Student Council. The Chairman of the SC draw the attention on the work they had fulfilled, especially outlining the students’ successful participation in the republic measures, about two dozen students’ visits to foreign universities and participation in exchange programs, a number of awards. After the report’s presentation a number of questions were asked to Sevak Khachatryan and Gagik Vardanyan, the Vice-Rector of Science and International Relations, urged to pay more attention to the students’ involvement in scientific field. “As the Rector of the University, I am also pleased with the work of the Student Council, I would like we could do more for our students, but in case of the current opportunities we do our best”; said Koryun Atoyan and put the decree of establishing the report for vote. It was approved.
Nerses Gevorgyan, the Head of Quality Assurance Division, reported about the duration of works directed to the University’s institutional analysis and the problems of the sub divisions, introducing the accreditation process in the system of higher education, its stages, outlining that our University had prepared and presented the report of institutional analysis. Nerses Gevorgyan said that preparatory work should be conducted to meet the program accreditation. The Head of the Division, then, Paruyr Kalantaryan, the Vice-Rector of Educational-Methodological Matters, spoke about organizational issues of the process, outlining the importance of it and the need of participation of the University’s representatives.
A number of issues regarding the themes of thesis and their directors were discussed and established.
