RESEARCH WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF “SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT” DIRECTION

A  serial  of  research  is  being conducted within  the  framework  of  a  number  of  important  directions  regarding  the economy  at  ASUE  “AMBERD” Center,  the  results  of  which  are  presented  during  scientific  seminars. The  regular  seminar  was  held  within the  framework  of  “Spatial  Development”  direction  at  ASUE  Conference  Hall  today. 

Gagik  Vardanyan,  the  Vice-Rector  of  Science  and  International  Relations,   welcomed  the  participants,  highlighted  the  role  of  “Spatial  Development”  direction    and  said  that such  results and proposals  were  expected,  which  could  be  submitted  to  the  Government.

Samvel  Avetisyan,  the  Director  of  the  Research  Center,    welcomed  the  participants, who  also outlined  the  topic’s  modernity  and  importance. 

Here  is  the  staff  of  the  research  team: Karen  Grigoryan (Director),  Candidate  in Economics,  Associate  Professor,  Tatul  Mkrtchyan,  Candidate  in Economics,  Associate  Professor, Sos  Khachikyan, Candidate  in Economics,  Associate  Professor,  Tigran Terzyan, Candidate  in Economics,  Associate  Professor, Lilit  Kolyan, Candidate  in Economics,  Assistant  Professor, Hasmik  Hambardzumyan, Assistant  Professor,  Hakob  Arshakyan,  Assistant  Professor,  Venera  Arakelyan,  a student  of  Master’s  Degree.

Karen Grigoryan,  the Director  of  the  research  team,  presented  the  work conducted  by  the  team,  then  spoke  about “The  Components  of  Spatial  Development  of the RA  Current  Strategic Projects”, “International  Projects  and  Cooperation  of the  RA”, “Spatial Development  Models  of  Cities”, “Urbanization  (urban concentration)  and  other  themes,  as well as presented scripts  of  Sustainable Development Program (SDP) of  the RA  and  a  summary description of    all  programs.  Karen  Grigoryan  mentioned  that  studying the  programs  of  the  World  Research  Centers,  they   came  to  a  conclusion  that the  European Union's experience could be considered a  primary  one.

Tatul  Mkrtchyan  presented  the  indexes  characterizing scientific  and  educational  fields  in Yerevan (2012),   branches  of  the  RA  economy (indexes  of  Yerevan), the  structure  the industry  in Yerevan,  spoke  about centers  of  creative  industry (towns),  our  country’s  pharmacy  and  nuclear  fields  and  etc.

Tigran  Terzyan  presented  the  regional development index  in the  RA,  which  includes  5  indexes:  economic,  social, demographic,  innovative,  competitiveness.

Sos  Khachikyan  presented  the  topic  entitled  “The  Features  of  Education  and  Science  in the  Context  of  the  RA  Spatial  Development”.

Hasmik  Hambardzumyan  presented “The Development  Opportunities  of  Yeghegnadzor  Region”,  and  Lilit  Kolyan “Mechanisms for the Formation of Regional Clusters: Wine Cluster (example  of Yeghegnadzor  region).
