ASUE 23rd CONFERENCE STARTED: DEVELOPMENT OF KNOWLEDGE AS A GUARANTEE OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND NATIONAL SECURITY
ASUE 23rd Conference “Modern Problems in Economic Development Policy of the RA” started at Armenian State University of Economics today, which is held on by financial support of the State Committee of Science of the RA Ministry of Education and Science.
The plenary session, headed by ASUE Rector, Doctor in Economics, Professor Koryun Atoyan, was conducted by the Vice-Rector of Science and International Relations Gagik Vardanyan. Applying to the participants of the plenary session Gagik Vardanyan mentioned that ASUE Conference was devoted to modern problems in economic development policy, which always existed, its nature was simply changing and the economists should suggest solutions. Then the Vice-Rector presented the schedule of the Conference, which included works of 4 sections, round tables and would be over on October 25.
ASUE Rector, Doctor in Economics, Professor Koryun Atoyan opened the plenary session, stressing that the University Conference aimed to present joint results of scientific-research works done during one year and to outline researches’ future directions. Then the participants listened to the Rector’s report entitled “Concerns of University Science and Economic Development Policy”.
Highlighting that development of science in the Republic of Armenia is not only a case of national pride, but first of all it is a guarantee of economic development and national security, he presented the main goals of the country’s scientific development. On this way he pointed out the important prerequisites which would help the modern Universities to meet nowaday’s challenge and to provide the reproduction of scientific potential. “It’s high time that the Republic of Armenia should enter the global education market and have its unique character”; said the Rector Koryun Atoyan. The President of the State Committee of Science of the RA Ministry of Education and Science, Doctor in Physics and Mathematics, Professor Samvel Harutyunyan presented the second report entitled “Development Trends and Problems in the RA Science”.
Referring to our University Samvel Harutyunyan mentioned that ASUE is the University, which had a highly qualified Faculty staff and which could join a number of research institutes in future.
The President of the State Committee of Science of the RA Ministry of Education and Science Samvel Harutyunyan answered the questions of ASUE lecturers. In response to the issue raised by him that there weren’t managers at the republic’s research centers, the Vice-Rector Gagik Vardanyan mentioned that our University had planned to provide postgraduate education for the profession of education managers.
The Vice-Rector of Science and International Relations, Doctor in Economic, Professor Gagik Vardanyan presented a report entitled “Knowledge Management and Economic Development". Referring to the problems regarding knowledge management Gagik Vardanyan spoke about main concepts of the knowledge, role of knowledge and information for economic development and its proper usage.
Conference will continue its works in 4 sections: “Business Environment and Investment Policy", "Financial Markets and Tax Policy", “The Economic Development and Economic Security in the RA: Problems and Prospects”, “International Economic Cooperation”.
