From October 12-24, researcher at ASUE Amberd Research Center Ruzanna Tadevosyan and research team member Christine Tatosyan participated as members of the Armenian delegation in the Open World program financed by US Library of Congress intended for think tank specialists.

They visited capital Washington and other cities of the United States within the frames of the program and met governmental representatives, representatives of legislative and executive bodies, professors, researchers, directors of research centers, and reputable representatives of the Armenian Community.

Ruzanna Tadevosyan points out that there is an opportunity to establish partner relations, exchange of experience and mutual professional interests. The format of the meeting was mainly formal and sometimes we would meet around breakfast or dinner time. It was of utmost importance that they were familiar with the biographies of Amberd Research Center researchers, our scientific interests and were willing to discuss the functioning of the Armenian think tank as was pointed out by Ruzanna Tadevosyan.

They have also discussed some possibilities to cooperate with ASUE and spoke about the perspectives and trends to cooperate in the future. The discussion scope was rather extensive, from the objective presentation of external challenges Armenia faces to the organization of works at think tanks of the republic. We had discussions on the foreign policy of Armenia with Professor Stephen Walt from Harvard University and we had productive discussions on research center functioning and works with Vice President of RMC Research Center Christine Dweyer and others.
