The spirit of France in Armenia inspired ASUE French speakers: Event dedicated to Francophonie days

Yerevan, which unites Francophone countries these days, tells about the cultural diversity and peculiarities of the French-speaking people. These days also inspired the ASUE French speakers and combined them on the celebration of the Francophonie Days. Students with the knowledge of French presented the culture, economy, cuisine, tourist attraction, and famous people of Francophone countries. The event was initiated by the chair of languages. Lusine Harutyunyan, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor, Susanna Chalabyan, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, lecturer Nektar Khachatryan participated in the event. The first Francophone country they touched upon was Swiss Confederation (Confédération suisse). It was considered as a "Country of Dreams". Zara Grigoryan (3rd year student of Marketing and Business Organization Department), Astghik Khachatryan (3rd year, Finance Department), Gohar Mkhitaryan, Liana Poghosyan (2nd year, Finance Department), Hermine Poghosyan and Qnarik Atanesyan (Department of Management, 2nd year) prepared reports on Francophone countries. The Chair had prepared French (professional) books as a gift in order to encourage and motivate students. Nektar Khachatryan noted that the event was aimed to evaluate the role of French, the importance of the Armenian-French relations, to raise the awareness of the Francophone countries.
It should be noted that the universal values of Francophone are the protection of human and peoples' rights, democracy, intercultural and interreligious dialogue, as well as fighting against such phenomena as xenophobia, intolerance, discrimination and hatred. The 17th summit will be held in Armenia on October 11-12.
