The republican competition of economic essays is over and the winners are known
Economics yesterday, April 6. The commission comprising 5 members from ASUE academic staff, while finalizing the results of the competition has chosen the best works and the priority was given to compositions that reflected the requirements of the essays (compliance with essay topics, creativity, motivation, logical reasoning, language competence). Schoolchildren and college students in their final years participated in the competition. Participants have chosen one of two topics suggested: “Environmental protection or economic development” and “National economy and globalization: how to reap benefits”.
ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan was present at the awards ceremony. Congratulating the prize-winners, she pointed out that most applicants have chosen the topic “Environmental protection or economic development”.
“Green economy is the most modern direction in economics and we are delighted to see that our future applicants realize its importance” – Diana Galoyan highlighted assuring those present that competition commission has kept all the criteria of objectivity.
Afterwards, head of ASUE Career Center Tatevik Vardanyan presented the functioning of the center, opportunities for students, and awarded consolation prizes to Nare Hajatyan, Geghecik Melikyan and Sona Rubenyan. Head of ASUE International Relations Division Anjelika Musayelyan awarded Sofi Meliksetyan, Meri Tadevosyan and Anna Gevorgyan as well as presented ASUE international rating, opportunities to participate in international programs and study in foreign countries. Representatives of the Student Council presented the functioning of ASUE Student Council and then, President of the Student Council Gor Melik-Sahakyan awarded a 6-day holiday certificate to Dilijan “Economist” health and sports complex to Roman Siradeghyan, Arthur Harutyunyan, Anna Manasyan, Lika Baroyan, Anush Zurabyan and Nora Satunts.
Finally, the names of the winners were announced by Rector Diana Galoyan. The winners of “Economic essay competition – 2022” program are Gohar Aleksanyan representing 184 Yerevan High School, Shoghik Nazaretyan from Gyumri “Foton” lyceum and Lili Ghevondyan from Vosketap High School.
They will get 100000 RA drams scholarship if they enter ASUE and the decision to study at the University of Economics to continue their education was confessed by them after the awards ceremony.
“When the title of the essay was announced, I thought to myself that I will not be able to win it but I realized that I have much to write about it and used the time wisely to transfer my ideas onto the paper” – Gohar Aleksanyan said. She decided long time ago to enter ASUE but hesitates about faculty choice: either accounting and audit or management.
Lili Ghevondyan also shared that the desire to become an economist is high and the determination to enter Armenian State University of Economics has increased after this competition.
It is the second time that the republican competition of economic essays has been organized at ASUE and the goal is to incentivize and develop the economic education.
