March 20 is highlighted as the International Francophonie Day in all five continents of the world. Armenia is a full member of the International Organization of the Francophonie from 2012 onwards. The event “Endless Cosmos of Opportunities for Women” took place on March 18 at ASUE aimed at stimulating interest in people to learn French and demonstrate French language, cultural and linguistic diversity. ASUE students presented world famous Armenian women and French-speaking women of Armenian descent that can become a source of motivation for any Armenian woman.

ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan, deans, heads of chairs, educational and university affairs coordinator at the Embassy of France to Armenia Celine Geren, as well as representatives of French-Armenian professional education center, were present at the event.

Assistant of ASUE chair of Languages and organizer of the event Izabella Abgaryan highlighted the importance of teaching French and told that knowledge of one foreign language is not enough and students should strive to learn more languages nowadays. “I am happy that the university attaches importance to learning languages and French as a second language was included in the study programs from the last year. ASUE students will design the future and contribute to the economic growth of Armenia so they should study more and be brave”.

At the end of the event, a flash mob of sharing French books was organized, as well as participants enjoyed French melodies and tried French croissants.
