QR Public Library at ASUE Gyumri Branch

On February 17, the solemn opening of the QR public library took place at Gyumri branch of the Armenian State University of Economics, which was attended by ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan and Director of the External Relations Department Lusine Danielyan.

The library can be used not only by the students of the branch, but also by those interested in economics and related fields, without any restrictions. Unlike traditional libraries, you do not need to be registered, submit a passport․ You should just enter the hall, select the book and scan the corresponding QR code posted on the wall. There is open internet access in the hall, tablets, a comfortable environment for reading has been created.

The library is unique, old books are replaced by QR codes and the latest technologies, providing modern literature.

The initiative also aims to connect young people with modern literature through the latest technologies and create an environment that will promote reading.

The creation of the library will activate the life of the locals, providing them with pleasant entertainment and self-education, as the district is suburban, the central and regional libraries are located in the center of the city.

During the opening event ASUE Gyumri Branch Acting Director Karen Petrosyan noted that now there are 8 sections in the library, about 100 professional books in each, but it is planned to constantly increase the number and direction of literature, including modern fiction.

ASUE Rector Diana Galoyan welcomed the initiative of the branch and expressed hope that the students would start reading more, and the acquired knowledge would guide the development of the economy of the region and the republic.
