ASUE Chess Players are Champions

The chess championship was held at Chess House after Tigran Petrosyan on April 3-6 within the frames of 19th RA Students’ Sport Games, organized by RA Ministry of Education and Science, Armenian Student Sport Federation and Pan-Armenian Youth Foundation.
Our University’s team of boys was represented by Tigran Harutyunyan, Tigran Petrosyan (Department of Finance, Master's Degree, 1st year), Eduard Mkrtchyan (Department of Regulation of Economy and International Economic Rеlations, 4th year), Serob Ghazaryan (Department of Regulation of Economy and International Economic Rеlations, 2nd year). The boys won the first place in the team tournament. Tigran Harutyunyan took the first place in the individual blitz competition of the boys and Eduard Mkrtchyan was the third. Shushanik Nerkararyan (Department of Accounting and Auditing, 2nd year) became a bronze medal winner in the individual blitz competition of girls. The coach of ASUE Chess Team is Lyudmila Hovhannisyan, lecturer in the Department of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.
Yesterday, on April 6, the official launch of the Games was given at Chess House and medals, diplomas and cups were handed over to the chess champions. The winners were congratulated and awarded by the First Deputy Chairman of the RA Student Sport Federation, Executive director Razmik Stepanyan, Head of the Department of Military and extracurricular upbringing of the RA Ministry of Education and Science Arkady Petrosyan, General Secretary of the RA Student Sport Federation, Head of the Chair of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Hovhannes Gabrielyan, YFA Program Manager Arusyak Poghosyan. YFA also invited the winners to participate in the three-day vacation-gathering in Tsaghkadzor at the end of the year.

Let's remind, 19th RA Students’ Sport Games started with the table tennis competition on March 17. This year national games and arm-wrestling have also been included in the championship.
