ASUE Student Jirayr Arakelyan Was Awarded the "For Service in Battle" Medal
Jirayr Arakelyan, the 1st year student of the Faculty of Finance, has been recently awarded the "For Service in Battle" medal by the NKR President’s decree.
He fought like a hero in the Artsakh-Azerbaijani war, he is the commander of the D-20 artillery, a sergeant. The 19-year-old patriotic young man damaged several enemy equipment, performed the combat tasks set before him skillfully and without hesitation, for which he was awarded the mentioned medal after the war. Jirayr is also holder of “Excellent Soldier of the Armenian Army” Badge of the ARM Armed Forces.
Jirayr Arakelyan was conscripted to the army in winter, 2020, he served in the Artillery Regiment of Nerkin Horatagh. During the war, their troops defended the borders of Martakert and Mataghis.
