Presentation of Suren Shaboyan's Book "421/731: Life in Your Arms"
On November 12, ASUE’s main hall hosted the presentation of 421/731: Life in Your Arms, a book by Suren Shaboyan, a student of ASUE Faculty of Management. The event brought together university faculty, students, Suren’s family and friends, and all those who shared his challenging journey through the September 2023 battles. Suren was meant to serve 731 days in the Artsakh army, but his service was cut short by the war, lasting only 421 days. These profound and intense memories became the foundation of his book.
The book was edited by Lilit Hakobyan, Associate Professor of ASUE Department of Languages, who supported Suren throughout the book's creation as his first reader.
Congratulatory speeches were given by Arzik Mkhitaryan, a distinguished professor and psychologist, and Raffi Dalakyan, a senior officer of the 77th Defense Brigade’s mortar unit. Arznik who supported Suren and his friends in keeping their resilience during the war.
A heartfelt speech was given by Suren’s grandfather, Suren Shaboyan, the former head of Drmbon community in Martakert. Lilit Dadayan, ASUE Rector’s advisor and Associate Professor of Marketing, also addressed the audience.
The event was unique not only for its moving speeches but also for its musical performances. Musical performances by Arthur Khachents, a singer from Artsakh, and Suren’s friend Arman Khachatryan seemed to transport the audience to their homeland.
Suren Shaboyan’s book, born from the memories and emotions of a young patriot, is intended to immortalize the feelings experienced during his service and the war.
