Elections of deans, heads of chairs at today's Scientific Board’s Session

ASUE Scientific Board held its regular session. ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan congratulated the honored scientist-teacher, the founder of the Chair of International Economic Relations, Professor Grigor Aghajanyan with the 80th jubilee. Grigor Aghajanyan was in the hall, and the rector gave him a congratulatory message, wishing health and longevity.
The first issue of the agenda was reported by the Student Council president Hovhannes Harutyunyan. He presented Student Council’s financial report on 2018, noting that 3 million 291 670 AMD was directed to the financing of student projects: “ASUE Games – 2018”, “Student Spring – 2018” sport and cultural events, “Best Student -2018” ceremony, "CrosSkill" interuniversity seminar, organization of summer holidays for students at "Tntesaget" sport-health resort. Scientific Board admitted Student Council's financial report.
The 2nd and 3rd issues of the agenda was presented by the Chairman of the Competition Commission, Professor Aram Sargsyan. He presented the candidates for the vacancies of the deans and heads of chairs. Candidates for the heads of Chair presented their vision, programs and approaches to the development of the Chair. The Scientific Board decided not to listen the presentation of the dean’s programs as they had been heard and approved at the department’s council. The Chairman of the Competition Commission also presented the issues of awarding associate professor degree to assistant professor of Banking and Insuarance chair, Vergine Sakhkalyan. The secret ballot was organized and as a result Karen Grigoryan was elected as the head of the chair of Macroeconomics, Manuk Movsisyan was elected as the dean of the Department of Management, Tatul Mkrtchyan as the dean of the Department of Marketing and Business Organization, Mary Badalyan as the dean of the Accounting and Auditing Department, Sos Khachikyan as the dean of the Computer Science and Statistics Department.
The selection of the head of the chair of Law and Political Science passed to the second round where candidates were Lyuba Mehrabyan and Nazeli Sukiasyan. None of the candidates was elected as a result of a closed, secret ballot. New competition will be announced. The voting results were confirmed by an open ballot.
