The Swedish Mining Experience was Introduced at the Chair of Environmental Economics

Today, professional discussion entitled “Legal and Political Preconditions of Mining: Learning from the Swedish Experience” was held at the Chair of Environmental Economics, conducted by trained lectures Volodya Manasyan, Anna Karapetyan, Nora Ayvazyan, Nadezhda Afyan. Gagik Aghajanyan, acting Head of the Chair, PhD in Economics, attended the meeting.
The speakers introduced the peculiarities of the Swedish mining, legislation regulating the sector's activity, development obstacles, measures taken against them, and the possibilities of localizing the Swedish experience in Armenia.
Discussion was held, during which the lecturer-attendees expressed views that can be useful and applicable to the improvement of the mining industry in our country.

On February 11-13, 4 lecturers of the above mentioned Chair attended a three-day intensive professional development seminar called “Legal and Political Preconditions of Mining: Learning from the Swedish Experience” offered by the AUA Center for Responsible Mining and the Luleå University of Technology with the support of the Embassy of Sweden Yerevan.
