Information Technology in Modern Economics: Open Lecture-contest – Everybody Won

A modern student should master the information technology professionally and apply it. Today, Gayane Terteryan, assistant Professor of the Chair of Economic Computer Science and Information Systems conducted an interesting open lecture-contest, summing up “Fundamentals of Informatics” course, attended by Vardan Sargsyan, Head of the above mentioned Chair, Doctor of Sciences, Professor and the representatives of the Chair.

Vardan Sargsyan welcomed the attendees and expressed happiness on the students' enthusiasm and urged them to be zealous in their studies.

Lecturer Gayane Terteryan instructed the students to develop a business plan, using the knowledge gained in this study period. Future businessmen have been working on the new economic product for about two months and have come up with their presentations today. The audience was divided into 7 groups, performing teamwork.

Gayane Terteryan invited a jury (lecturers) and asked to assess the business ideas, projects, students' speeches by 0-6 points. It was noteworthy that all the teams were assessed with a maximum 6 points.

While being interviewed Gayane Terteryan noted that students strengthen both their knowledge of the basics of informatics, and publicized literary developed business plans, they learned to do teamwork, to spoke freely in front of the audience and she noted that everyone was involved in the lesson.

“We have decided to hold open lectures in all courses, encouraging teamwork" the lecturer summed up.
