Lecture Dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS)
Joint lectures dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the CIS were delivered in the educational institutions of the CIS member states initiated by the CIS Executive Committee and under the program of measures approved by the CIS Economic Council.
Joining this initiative, Davit Hakhverdyan, Director of AMBERD Research Center, Doctor of Sciences, Professor, lectured on “Commonwealth of Independent States: from 30 Years of Observation”.
The speaker began his speech referring to the preconditions for the formation of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the descriptive events of the period, presented the stages of activity, structure, integration policy, the main indicators of economic cooperation.
The lecture was interrupted by the screening of a film dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, which included a retrospective analysis of possible events from the beginning of the CIS membership to the present day: destructive earthquake in Spitak, Independence referendum, Artsakh liberation war, army building, energy crisis, revival of the banking system, creation of the Armenian currency, etc.
Professor David Hakhverdyan combined expectations, goals, perspectives, and answered questions of students comprehensively and impartially commenting on the key issues of Armenia's membership in the CIS from 30 years of observation.
