Signing Memorandum of Cooperation with Social Security Service

University of Economics continues to establish partnerships with RA state and non-governmental organizations in the context of the reform and re-evaluation of ASUE role.

Another partnership was established today, with a memorandum signed between ASUE and Social Security Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, which initiates activities aimed at building and strengthening capacity addressed to social security challenges, expanding university-labor market cooperation, as well as supporting research and public policy-making processes. The cooperation based on ASUE professional potential and the experience of the RA Social Security Service and its importance.

Ruben Hayrapetyan, ASUE acting Rector, and Suren Ghambaryan, Head of Social Security Service, signed the memorandum at ASUE Center for International Programs. Among the participants in the event there were Vice Rectors Diana Galoyan, Tigran Mnatsakanyan, Directors of Departments Aram Hovhannisyan, Paruyr Jangulyan, Heads of Divisions Aghavni Hakobyan, Vard Ghukasyan, representatives of academic staff, collaborators, officials of Social Security Service.

Paruyr Jangulyan welcomed the attendees, stressing that University of Economics enlarges partnerships with the RA state and non-governmental sector, and in this regard this cooperation is of great importance.

Acting Rector Ruben Hayrapetyan stated that establishment of new partnerships is a part of ASUE global policy and, in particular, the University's activity is also related to the social sector, so the memorandum and the activities upon it will have a great role.

“A part of the profile professions at the State University of Economics is closely connected to social issues. We have different training courses, educational programs, which are directly related to social and social security issues, and naturally, we need to work with you in several directions. Strengthening students' practical knowledge through relevant internships is one of these directions, and the implementation of certain research is the another one. In the context of the current research policy of our University, we provide the application of research, that is, we should perform both fundamental and applied research. Based on reality and necessity, we are looking for new partnerships”; the University Head stated.

Suren Ghambaryan welcomed the ongoing interaction and expressed readiness to fulfill the provisions under the memorandum.

Tadevos Avetisyan, acting Head of the Chair of International Economic Relations, highlighted the role of applied partnerships. Aramayis Shahbekyan, Press Secretary of the Head of the State Social Security Service, stressed that ASUE should issue the best social security training staff and expected active cooperation.

Zhora Sargsyan, Assistant Professor of the Chair of International Economic Relations, representative of Social Security Service, noted, the student should be confident that the academic staff members are professionals ready to assist her/him, so in this context, partnership with labor market is of great importance.

Within the memorandum, it is planned to involve students in activities of the Social Security Service, contributing to their practical skills and abilities.

The parties promised effective interaction and fulfillment of joint activity.
