Master students develop a model estimating RA nominal exchange rate: seminar at "Amberd"

A scientific seminar took place today at ASUE "Amberd" Research Center, where the executors of "The influence of the behavior of the nominal exchange rate of on RA economy" research project performed. Director of the Center, Professor Samvel Avetisyan, the staff, and students took part at the seminar. The supervisor of the group Lusine Harutyunyan, welcomed the participants, noting that the group had done theoretical analysis during the previous stage and now they had developed a model. She passed the floor to master student Zara Miraqyan, who referred to the nominal exchange rate and the correlation between the economic indicators.

Lusine Khachatryan spoke about dollarization in RA. She referred to the negative effects of dollarization; showed the dynamics of dollarization in 2003-2015.

Next speaker Lilit Arakelyan, stopped on government's debt dynamics (2005-2014), currency composition of external debt, exchange rates, the impact of devaluation on debt levels, etc.

Note that the results of the study will be presented in late December.
