“STUDENT AUTUMN 2014” SPORT CULTURAL FESTIVAL LAUNCHED (photos)
Today, “Student Autumn 2014” sport cultural festival launched by chess and volleyball (boys and girls) tournaments, which are initiated by Student Council. Note, that this year’s festival is devoted to the 20th anniversary of ASUE Student Council.
The tournaments were attended by representatives of Faculty, collaborators, students headed by Student Council. The University Rector, Koryun Atoyan, attended the chess tournament and encouraged the players with his presence.
The acting Head of the Chair of Physical Training, First Aid and Civil Defense, Hovhannes Gabrielyan, highlighted the role of interdepartment sport games, noting that they prepare students for interuniversity games.
“In particular, European University Chess Championship will be held on October, 2015 and our participation in it is very important”; said the Head of the Chair. The latter informed that teams of 6 Departments and Yeghegnadzor Branch participated in today’s tournaments.
The results of today’s games aren’t known yet, they will be announced later.
According to the schedule of the sport games tomorrow, on November 11, armwrestling championship of boys will be held.
Note, that on November 12, 2014, the solemn opening ceremony of “Student Autumn 2014” sport cultural festival will be held.
