ARMENIAN DRAM IS 20 YEARS OLD

The national currency of the Republic of Armenia is dram.  One dram is equal to hundred luma. The CBA is vested with the exclusive right to issue currency. The national currency was put into circulation on 22 November, 1993.

Banknotes in circulation:  500  dram,  1000 dram,  5000 dram, 10 000 dram, 20 000 dram,  50 000 dram,  100 000 dram,  as  well  as  coins.

Armenian  dram  has  a  writing,  which  was  created  in  1995, the  author is Karen  Komendaryan,  and  a  bronze statue  devoted  to  the  Armenian  dram  and  symbolizing it was installed in  front  of  the  Central  Bank  in 2008  on the 15th  anniversary  of the RA currency.

Today  the  Armenian dram is  already  20 years  old.  It’s  a  great  occasion  to  congratulate our  countrymen  on  this  important  achievement,  and  wish  the  national  currency a  long  and  stable   way.  November 22  is  also  celebrated  as 

Bank Employee Day.
