“INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS ISSUES OF LANDLOCKED COUNTRIE”: RESEARCH AT “AMBERD” CENTER

Regular scientific  seminar  entitled “International Competitiveness  Issues  of  Landlocked  Countries”  was  conducted  today  at  “AMBERD”  Research  Center within  the  framework  of  ”Competitiveness, Internationalization and Foreign Trade”  direction.

Samvel  Avetisyan,  the  Director  of  the  Center,  the staff  of  the  Center,  lecturers,  students  participated  in the  seminar.

Here  is  the  members  of  the  research  team: Grigor  Nazaryan (the Director  of  the  research  team),  Candidate  in  Economics, Associate  Professor,  Davit  Hakhverdyan, Candidate  in  Economics, Associate  Professor,  Armen  Grigoryan, Candidate  in  Economics, Associate  Professor,  Ashot  Eghiazaryan, Candidate  in  Economics, Associate  Professor,  Anna  Pakhlyan, Candidate  in  Economics,  Araks  Abrahamyan, PhD.

Grigor  Nazaryan  spoke  about  the  theory  of  competitiveness development,   modern  definitions of national competitiveness,  presented  modern  methods  of   calculating national competitiveness,  index  of  global  competitiveness  and  etc.

In the  interview  with  ASUE  Media  and  Public  Relations  Division  Grigor  Nazaryan  mentioned; “Our  research aims  to  find  out  the  internal and external challenges  of  the  international   competitiveness of  landlocked  countries, to  develop common approaches and proposals  based  on  evaluation  of  their  analysis and competitive advantages, the  practical  usage  of  which  will  promote   the  potential of  the  competitiveness  in the  Republic  of  Armenia  and development  of  complex  proposals  of  weak  sides.  We  highlight solutions  of  a  number  of  problems for  implementation of those goals.

Within the  framework  of  the  research the  team  tried to  analyze methodological  bases  of  evaluating  international  competitiveness,  we  referred    mainly to  the   problems,  import and export procedures  of  landlocked  countries, including  Armenia  and  suggested  appropriate  solutions”.
