Researcher of ASUE “AMBERD” Center Attended School for Young Scientists

From October 16 to 20 school of “Regional Challenges” for youth was conducted on the initiative of the Center of regional research at the Public Administration Academy of RA and in the frames of grant program of the State committee of science at the Ministry of education and science.

Master students, post-graduate students, researchers of various institutions, journalists and representatives of other public agencies participate in the autumn school. Astghik Hovhannisyan, junior researcher  of “AMBERD” research center, Assistant Professor  of the  Chair of Statistics has  attended  the  school.

Tigran Harutyunyan, Head of the Center of Regional Research at PAARA made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the school pointing out the importance of actuality and study of the theme of lectures on the school for the second year. Experts from the  RA and Artsakh presented  reports  during an one-week-school: in particular, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Military Analyst and Expert, Samvel Martirosyan, expert in information security, Hrachya Arzumanyan, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies “Ashkharh” of the Republic of  Artsakh, Areg Galstyan, Head of the Analytical Center of  “The Armenian Interest”  and  other experts.

Important topics related to the current reality of Armenia were discussed:

  • Reforms of the RA Armed Forces in the context of “Nation-Army” concept,
  • Critical Sub-structures of Armenia from the Perspective of Information Security,
  • Ways of Scientific Diaspora-State Cooperation: International Experience and Armenia's Possibilities,
  • New Ways to Run Wars.

“The auditorium consisted of specialists from different fields, and each of us referred  to the issue from a professional point of view and there was an active discussion. We looked for reasonable solutions to the problem taking account the  regional developments, of course, dominated by national interests. Lectures were always overtime and even breaks were used for discussion and feedback with speakers”, noted  Astghik Hovhannisyan.

The active participants of the autumn school were awarded certificates, and the  presented reports will be published in a collection “Regional Challenges”.
