Workshop and Training by ASUE Scholars’ Attendance

Workshop and  training within the EU VERITAS (Structural Development of the Third Cycle Based on Salzburg Principles)project were held in Vanadzor State University on July 1-2, which were  attended by supervisors  of PhDs, PhD in Economics, Associate Professors, Karen Grigoryan, the coordinator of VERITAS project  at ASUE, acting Chair  of Macroeconomics, Alvar Sargsyan, Chair of  Financial Accounting, and Ruzanna  Hajoyan, Associate Professor of Chair of Marketing, PhD in Economics.

Representatives  of Yerevan State University, Yerevan State Medical University (Chief coordinator of the project), the RA National Academy of Sciences, the RA Public Administration Academy, Yerevan State University of Languages and Social Sciences after V.Bryusov  and other consortium member Universities, the  RA  MES  and other  organizations are  among the  participants.

The following issues of the new draft law of “The RA Law on Higher Education”- provisions related to postgraduate education, experience of EU partner Universities in the field of PhD supervisors and their application in Armenian Universities, issues relating to supervisors’ quality assurance standards, as well as recommendations and suggestions on the Salzburg principles of postgraduate education programs and external expertise reports were discussed.

ASUE representatives made a number of suggestions and observations on the above mentioned issues.

Trainings were conducted  for supervisors during the second part of the workshop. As  Karen Grigoryan stated the  trainings have  developed the participants’ skills  and  abilities of  supervising.
