Summary of transactions on financial markets of RA by AMBERD Research Center

ASUE AMBERD Research Center has summarized the transactions on financial markets of RA in December.

According to the summary CB of RA has mainly used the instruments for reducing the liquidity during December month. In spite of November month the weekly repo contracts have  been used among the instruments of increasing liquidity, which volume has been 66,5b in AMD. The Central Bank of RA has also implemented a purchase of government bonds with the volume of 6 billion.

The exchange rate of USD has mainly demonstrated the growing tendency during the month thus increasing by 0.92% for the purchase and for sales prices as compared to the beginning of the second part of the month. In case of EUR the rates have been decreased due to the volatility of rates on the international markets, but the rates RUR have mainly been demonstrating the growing tendency during the month.

There has also been registered activity on the repo and swap markets and interbank loan market. The volume of OTC repo transactions has increased in 19.4%, repo with Euro bonds have  decreased in 16.9 %. There has been noticed different tendencies on interbank loans market. Interbank loans in AMD have decreased in 60.9%, but loans in USD have increased in 162.6 %. The volume of USD swaps has decreased in 80.3%  on the swap market. Besides this there have been swap transactions in EUR, which volume has demonstrating growth in 185.7%.

A big activity has been registered both on primary and secondary government bonds markets and mainly tendencies to decreasing interests. As a result profitability of outstanding short-term bonds has been 7.5309% at the end of December/at the end of November it was 7.9337%/. Profitabilities of outstanding mid-term and long-term government bonds has been 14.1221% despite the result of the end of previous month-14.0361%.

The volume of transactions on corporate bonds market has decreased 32.8 times, profitabilities have been greatly decreased related to decreasing profitabilities on financial markets. The volume of transactions on stock market has yielded the indicator of previous month approximately in 99.3%.
