ESPAQ project objectives and directions: informative seminar in ASUE
Today, participants of ESPAQ (Enhancing Students Participation in Quality Assurance in Armenian HE) project, students of Armenian Universities, representatives of career centers, employers attended the informative seminar in ASUE: main goals, directions, key accents of ESPAQ project were presented.
Nerses Gevorgyan, Head of Quality Assurance Division, ASUE, made opening remarks, highlighting development of democratic methods for management of
higher education quality. The Head of the division highlighted the activities of all participants, as a result, appropriate mechanisms should be developed.
Lana Karlova, coordinator of “Erasmus+” office in Armenia, was next to speak; “We are glad to participant in this project. ESPAQ is with students, for students”.
Lana Karlova presented statistics, which shows the involvement of Armenian Universities in EU Tempus programs: Armenia is a member of more than 2 dozen programs. Particular reference was made to the “Erasmus +” exchange program.
The seminar went on according to the working agenda.
Nerses Gevorgyan mentioned that assurance and control of education quality assurance are multidimensional and continuous processes, hence students’ direct participation, their suggestions are important to be taken into account.
The ESPAQ project is looking at one of the core challenges of Armenian higher education (quality of its provision and outcomes), by engaging the students into processes of quality assurance (QA) and enhancement of their learning experience.
