SEG seminars started: “Think tanks” in the current political processes

ASUE boardroom today hosted the second interim report of the “Think tanks” in the current political processes” scientific and educational group. The presentation was attended by ASUE Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and External Relations Gagik Vardanyan, the director of "Amberd” Research Center Samvel Avetisyan, representatives of ASUE scientific staff and students.

The seminar started with a moment of silence: the participants paid tribute to the dead soldiers and civilians in Artsakh.

Gagik Vardanyan welcomed those present and stressed the importance of university research, the need for research within the scientific and educational groups.

Note that SEG operates under the supervision of associate professor Vardan Atoyan. The members of this scientific group are associate Professor Sofia Ohanyan and senior assistant Arpine Malkdjyan.

The head of the group said that the study was exceptional as the first experience of research on the role of Armenian think tanks, and added that there were 60 think tanks in the country. Vardan Atoyan briefly presented the key areas of work addressed, the stages of creation, the development of think tanks, functions, typology, forms of cooperation, etc.

          Sofia Ohanyan presented the role of the Armenian TT in the political process. In this context, the conversation turned on the TT phases, evaluation, classification, gaps on standards activities.

After the presentation, those present asked questions.

Note, that the results of the scientific-educational groups will be announced in June.
