Armenian national currency is 25 years old (video)
On November 22, 1993 the Armenian dram was put into circulation, becoming one of the state symbols of the Third Republic of Armenia. With its unique economic significance and functions, the national currency came to reflect the economic situation in our country and became the indicator of its effectiveness. The Armenian Dram now has a recognition, tradition, recognizable with its graphic image, and we are confident that it will continue to build the modern history of the Armenian currency by recording stability and value. As the Central Bank of Armenia has already announced, today the new banknotes of the third generation will be gradually put into circulation on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Armenian dram.
The banknote with nominal value of 1,000 dram is with the image of Paruyr Sevak, 2.000 with Tigran Petrosyan, 5.000 with William Saroyan, 10.000 with Komitas, 20.000 with Hovhannes Aivazovsky, 50.000 with St. Gregory the Illuminator.
