On September 27, the ASUE Scientific Council held its first session of the 2024-2025 academic year, chaired by Armen Grigoryan, ASUE Rector and President of the Scientific Council. At his suggestion, the council members observed a one-minute silence in honor of the victims of the 44-day war.

The first item on the agenda was the approval of the ASUE Scientific Council's work plan for the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Following this, Ara Mkrtchyan, Chair of the Scientific Council’s Competition Committee, presented the proposal for conferring the academic title of Associate Professor. Through a secret ballot, the title was awarded to Armen Markosyan, lecturer at the Department of Banking and Insurance, and Kristina Torgomyan, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Languages. The university rector congratulated the colleagues, highlighting their professional and personal merits.

The council then approved changes to the Educational-Methodological and Publishing Committees, along with amendments to the university’s rules on study, assessment, and administration. Additionally, revisions were made to the decisions regarding academic workload calculations, teaching staff standards, and the regulations on academic staff formation, as well as the preparation and defense of final projects and master’s theses. Most of the changes in the latter two regulations addressed plagiarism issues and deadlines for topic assignments. All the proposed changes were approved.

ASUE Vice-Rector for Science, Tatul Mkrtchyan, introduced a research topic for 2024, proposed by the Corruption Prevention Commission to the "Amberd" Research Center, titled "The Role of the State in Business Integrity and Mechanisms for Its Promotion," which was approved.

Finally, the Scientific Council approved the reinstatement of Levon Hakobyan's student rights.
