Draft model law developed by ASUE was adopted in the first reading in the Committee of CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly

On May 12, at the session of the standing committee of agricultural and environmental affairs of CIS inter-parliamentary assembly, the draft model law “Assessment of mining industry activity influence on health of community population” was adopted unanimously and in the first reading.

ASUE lecturers PhD in Economics, Associate Professor Frida Baharyan and PhD in Economics, Assistant Nadezhda Afyan worked on draft law development. Project supervisor, head of the chair of Microeconomics of ASUE, Doctor of Economics, Professor Mikael Melkumyan informed about it during the interview to asue.am.

This draft model law developed by ASUE was presented at CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly and was approved.

Mikael Melkumyan pointed out that before this session a scientific conference took place on March 24 at ASUE with the participation of NA delegates, experts, professionals, as well as advisor to the expert and analytical division of the Secretariat of CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly Natalia Amburdzeva. “As a result of this discussion, there were some suggestions that we included in our draft law and it was adopted in the first reading. It will be adopted completely in the second reading in October and the draft law will be sent to all CIS countries. This is the main achievement of our work” – Mikael Melkumyan pointed out.
