The library of the Armenian State University of Economics has been named the winner in the "Best Professional (University) Library" category.

The awards ceremony for the "Best Library" competition, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, took place on October 7, in celebration of Librarian's Day. The event was attended by Minister Zhanna Andreasyan, Deputy Minister Alfred Kocharyan, competition participants, and guests.

Minister Andreasyan congratulated the librarians on their special day and highlighted the vital role they play in promoting reading in society. "Libraries are an inseparable part of our lives. Despite technological advancements, there is no substitute for books. Formats and reading environments may evolve, but reading remains the key tool to stimulate thought and creativity," she said. She further praised the important work of librarians, adding that librarians can either open a reader's mind to the world of literature or close that door forever. She added, “Your contribution to children's development is immense, and we need to find ways to see and measure that impact."

The competition included categories such as "Best Community Library," "Best Regional Library," "Best Innovative Library," "Best Scientific and Educational Library," "Best Professional Library," and a "Special Award." Organized by the Armenian Library Association with support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, the competition saw participation from 70 libraries across state, community, and other institutions.
