Sport Mosaic: ASUE Student-athletes’ New Achievements

October was full of sporting events with ASUE student-athletes active participation. Our athletes, who are distinguished for their purpose and willpower, haven’t naturally returned empty-handed, they enriched ASUE sporting achievements.

Hovhannes Gabrielyan, acting Head of the Chair of  Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, President of Armenian Student Sports Federation, introduced the victories of our students.

At the Arm Wrestling Championship of the 20th Republican Sport Games Program Vahan Ter-Balyan, a student of the Faculty of Finance, European Champion, became a champion with right and left hands in the 80kg category, Petros Zamkochyan (Faculty of Finance) took the 2nd and 3rd places (with left and right hands respectively) in the weight category 90kg and over. Sos Petrosyan (Faculty of Marketing and Business Organization) took the third place in the 60kg category. The coach is Arman Gulyan, a lecturer at the Chair of Physical Education, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense.

ASUE handball boys team took the 2nd place in the same games. The trainer is Associate Professor of the above mentioned chair Hakob Kyokchyan.

Hovhannes Gabrielyan stated that the Chair prepares students for the chess championship now, which will start on November 9, as well as the athletes will compete in a number of other inter-university championships.
