ASUE Signed Memorandum with the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration

Today, the regular sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration was marked by signing memorandum with Armenian State University of Economics. The document was signed by ASUE acting Rector Ruben Hayrapetyan and  the Committee Chair Mikayel Melkumyan, who is also the acting Head of the Chair of Microeconomics and Organization of Entrepreneurial Activities of ASUE. Signing memorandum was the first agenda item. After the welcoming speech  the attendees honored the memory of the April four-day war victims in one-minute silence. Then, after the approval of the agenda, ASUE Rector and the Committee Chair spoke about the importance of professional cooperation.

“It’s already 2 months we have been discussing with the acting rector of the University of Economics Mr. Hayrapetyan the need to attract the economic potential of our Republic to increase the efficiency of organizing the National Assembly activity including our Committee”; Mikayel Melkumyan stated, stressing that University of Economics is a profile one with a staff which can really contribute to the Committee's expertise activities.

ASUE Head pointed out that it’s important to have our message about Regional and Eurasian integration issues and to be able to contribute to the implementation of these processes, and the memorandum is aimed at ensuring close relations with the National Assembly and the University of Economics.

“This is an important event both for me and the University, cause we have declared the policy to become the platform for economic thought concentration in our country, which should be a link between different institutions, organizations and stakeholders”; Ruben Hayrapeyan stated.

The memorandum was signed and the sides expressed readiness to provide consistency in the implementation of the set points.

We also talked with Narine Elizarian, Expert of the Committee Expertise Board, who expressed confidence that the memorandum will be based on the dynamic cooperation of ASUE students and state structures and this is a wonderful initiative in the context of activating the work with ASUE students and alumni.

The Committee coordinator Artur Arakelyan, added that students will be able to participate in the discussion of the legislative draft laws, international agreements, model laws discussed at the Committee, with the opportunity to raise their professional abilities, and the best ones will be involved in working team.
